Status | Description |
Kaiate Falls Rd | 6.68kms | 08:27 | A challenging little country road which will be a good wake-up call. Tight and twisty uphill with huge drop-offs on the right, across the top and then tight a twisty down hill with drop-offs on the left. Finishes with a short downhill run on tarmac. Take care and treat with respect. |
Pinnacles | 14.55kms | 09:02 | Absolutely fabulous forest road. A challenging new stage that is full of corners and crests to keep you awake. Starts off with 3.7km of great public road and then into the forest. Treat with respect, especially the crests in the second half of the stage. |
Kaharoa | 9.08kms | 10:07 | Another great forest road. Quite fast, which is why the length is limited but challenging nevertheless. An interesting junction towards the end that comes up quickly. |
Galaxy Rd | 11.72kms | 10:27 | Another forest road and what a good one! Smooth and flowing, with some blind brows to keep you honest, then hard right onto a good based road that has had some work in the last few months. The first part of the road after the junction has suffered a bit in the recent wet weather, but otherwise really good forestry stage. |
Mangapapa | 16.85kms | 12:45 | Another forestry stage on roads that haven't been used in some time. Quite narrow to start and a little bit overgrown, but opens out into a smooth flowing road that has excellent rhythm. To be enjoyed. |
Mangatoi Rd | 19.43kms | 13:25 | Cancelled | Longest stage of the rally. Starts off with a steep, tight downhill, then up and across a tarmac intersection and a short section of tarmac, onto some more fabulous gravel road that winds downhill and then through some lovely tight stuff to the finish.
Ngawaro | 16.3kms | 15:10 | Part public road, part forestry. A little bit rougher than previously to start, but opens out onto some fast public road before turning left and finishing with the second half of SS4. |
Taumata Rd | 6.57kms | 15:44 | Our CoC has wanted to rally this road all his life and still doesn't get to - cause he's in charge again! His bad luck is your good luck. Fabulous bit of public road that for some reason caught some people out on the first corner last year. Notably Hugh Goldsmith. But also some other top cars had some problems there. Also, watch out for the speed restriction, caused by the new bits of seal. Keep your speed down through here, or pay the penalty.
