| 2 | Waihi 1 | 34.6kms | 09:47 | As used previously, the stage starts from SH38, climbs for 20 kms then follows the ridge for 5 kms. The road then drops to the river for 8 kms and then climbs again through the staircase for the last few kms. Good county road, soft in places if wet. Weather permitting the good base will be retained. | |
