Ramrock Rd | 29.12kms | 08:00 | A great stage to start Day 2. Last used in the Otago Rally in 1991 but has been used as part of a longer stage in the Silver Fern. 100% public road that has sections of fast flowing road interspersed with tighter sections. Light to medium gravel over hard base. |
Moonlight | 8.96kms | 08:45 | Another new stage to NZRC rallying although was used on 2006 Silver Fern as part of a larger stage. Starts on twisty uphill section before opening out to become more flowing - with crests - before fast finish. Medium gravel |
Waipori | 12.99kms | 11:05 | This year going up the gorge (Opposite direction to 2007). Classic public road gravel stage alongside the Waipori River. Tighter than most Otago stages with medium gravel over a hard base. Could be icy if there is a hard frost. |
Duns | 51.28kms | 11:05 | The big one! Starts in Berwick forest using arterial forestry roads that are mainly wide, hard surfaced and fast. Some shorter sections of rougher gravel but most is smooth. Last 15km on medium gravel public road with a fast downhill finish. |
Kuri Bush | 15.11kms | 12:55 | 100% public road stage. A favourite stage for many years. Public road stage that has a bit of everything. One of the best! Medium gravel over hard base. Finishes on wide flowing lightly metalled road with plenty of crests. |
Whare Flat | 12.99kms | 13:55 | An Otago classic to finish. Run in the opposite direction to last 2 years with minor changes. Starts on public roads with three very tricky concrete based fords before steep uphill section on medium to heavy gravelled road. Last section on forestry roads that start fast and then get steeper with tighter sections before the finish.
