| 2.1 | Waitomo 1 - part 1 | 25.85kms | 10:21 | New start point 0.09km before last year. This stage is a combination of wide fast and flowing intermixed with winding, narrow and tight sections with grass growing in the middle of the road. While technically difficult it is a great drivers' road where car control skills count. | |

| 7 | Possum | 13.78kms | 09:46 | A tight and narrow 5km uphill climb opens up to winding and flowing roads, tight in places. Similar to the Te Akau stages. Traditionally used by local Clubs this is a great drivers stage. | |
| 8 | Franklin | 31.58kms | 10:24 | Wider road for the start, which is both flowing and uphill, leads to a variety of road width, some fast, others tight and winding. Rock surface in places. Similar to the Te Akau stages. A technical stage which has caught out many drivers. | |
